Hi, thanks for having an interest in me and reading my page dedicated to the dogs in my life.
I have grown up with there always being at least one dog in the family home. My first ever memory of dogs was a dog called 'Patch' that was owned by my Nan & Grandad in Devizes (which was where I lived as well) Patch was a smooth Collie cross type dog, and hoping my memory serves me right - he didn't like me much. He would walk up to the local Spar shop where the Shop Keeper Ray Parsons (how do I remember his name???) used to give him a biscuit.
Then came a Collie dog, called Zimba. Following Zimba came 'JoJo', a huge yellow Labrador, he was a super dog but unfortunatly he had to be put to sleep at an early age as he defended his bone when a child entered our garden to retreive their ball.
Following JoJo quickly came yet another collie called Zimba (or was that the same one?) Zimba didnt like me much either and bit me on the leg!
Then came Ziggy, a German Shepherd..............he didnt bite me or anyone else come to that matter.
Aged 17, I toddled off to live in Spain for 4 years, where I had my very
own German Shepherd - that I called Wiskey'; later on I
rescued a Pekinese Cross from 'Death Row' called 'Jackie'
A few years on, back in blighty I got a White German Shepherd called 'Jazz'
he is 13 now and still fighting fit.
Reeba came along 3 years later - another German Shepherd, I lost Reeba in 2007 thanks to DM.
Then - 4 years on, the long awaited for Super Dog.......Mr Diji - I love Diji to bits, but my god he is a grumpy old git.
Then, ta daaaaaa......Della the Terrier enters the scene - a little rescue Jack Russell Terrier cross - what an action packed little dog this is.
Next entering the house is yet another German Shepherd - Katja, my little Princess
I then bred my very first litter of GSD's, Katja was a super Mum & produced ELEVEN!! I kept the small ugly one, and we named her Roxy - she is a very well balanced dog, both mentally & physically , and I absolutly love her to bits.
As a Dog Training Instructor I often get asked if I have ever been bitten by dogs in my class - the answer is yes, and guess what it was, a Collie puppy - it bit me on the nose - hahahaha
I have also had a dog cock his leg and pee on me - the breed? ha! not a collie this time - but a
Great Dane!
As a child I also got bit on the leg by a daschund!
What dog will I have next? probally an ABC
(Anything But a Collie)
